Renowned founder of the Free Software Movement, author of the GNU project Richard Stallman will arrive in Armenia on November 15, at the invitation of KASA (Komitas Action Swiss Armenia) Swiss Humanitarian Foundation.

As part of his visit, Richard Stallman will give two speeches in Yerevan on “Free Software: Ethics and the Internet” (Nov. 16 at 6:30 pm) and “Free Digital Society” (Nov. 18 at 6:30 pm) and one in Gyumri on “Free Software and Your Freedom” (Nov. 19 at 3 pm).

The admission is free of charge. Interested participants need only to register online here prior to the dates of their chosen seminar.

According to Stallman, his speeches are non-technical and are intended for all computer users.

The Free Software Movement campaigns for computer users’ freedom to cooperate and control their own computing.  The Free Software Movement developed the GNU operating system, typically used together with the kernel Linux, specifically to make these freedoms possible.
