Two citizens of the Republic of Armenia have been arrested on charges of child kidnapping In northern Moscow, say representatives of Moscow’s law enforcement bodies.
According to a Moscow police officer, the accused kidnapped the 9-year-old son of a fellow compatriot, a well-known entrepreneur in Moscow. The incident took place in May this year. The two men forced the child into a car and kept him in the basement of a house. They then demanded a ransom payment of 8 million Russian rubles (a little over $262 thousand US dollars).
The boy was beaten for five days and released only after the kidnappers received their ransom.
The child’s parents contacted the police three months after the incident, in August. The kidnappers now are preparing to give their initial testimonies, reports City-FM.
