NATO has never expressed pro-Azerbaijan sentiments, said Baku-based political analyst Mubariz Ahmedoglu in an interview with Day.az, commenting on the Nagorno-Karabakh resolution to be discussed at the upcoming 56th annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly from Nov. 12–16 in Warsaw.
“Until recently, NATO has not participated in the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in any way and has not applied double standards. I think that the Azerbaijani side has to take that into consideration. NATO is not ‘our’ organization, and I think that what’s written in the document which might be approved by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, is not favorable for us and doesn’t correspond with Azerbaijan’s position,” said Ahmedoglu.
With regard to the OSCE Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, from Dec. 1–2, according to the analyst, there are no longer any resources left for peaceful negotiations.
