Pashinyan’s Row with Cellmates Did Not Escalate to Attack: Ombudsman’s Office

The news reported earlier today that Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) chief editor Nikol Pashinyan was attacked yesterday in the penitentiary in the village of Gosh in Armenia’s Tavush village where he is currently imprisoned is not true, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender’s office told Epress.am, citing a Gosh penitentiary press spokesperson.

“A row took place between the cellmates, with Nikol Pashinyan’s participation, which did not escalate to an attack,” said Armenia’s Human Rights Defender’s office.

The reason for the argument or other details are not currently available.
