Turkey So Far Unsuccessful in Finding Oil in Black Sea

The state project to find oil in Turkey is not faring so well. Turkey’s government aims to find oil in the Black Sea’s Turkish waters by 2023, when the republic will be celebrating its 100th anniversary.

However, exploration efforts at two drill sites on the Black Sea conducted by the TPAO with a Brazilian and an American partner have failed.

According to Turkish news source Zaman, however, hopes are still high for a third site off coast of Trabzon’s Surmeli town.
