Today is the last day for elections campaigning for Azerbaijan’s parliament (Milli Məclis which translates to National Assembly). The law dictates that the last day of campaigning is one day before elections; in this case, Nov. 6 at 8 pm local time. Elections are set to take place on Nov. 7.
One day before elections, posters in different areas of the country of candidates and their calls for getting votes are removed. For the last time, candidates will have address the public on Azerbaijan’s public television this evening. Each candidate is allocated 4 minutes of air time (of no financial cost to the candidate).
Note that very little was reported in the media of rallies and other mass events in the lead-up to this round of parliamentary elections.
