Tbilisi OSCE Media Conference to Discuss Challenges Facing S.Caucasus Journalists

The 7th Annual South Caucasus Media Conference, hosted by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatovic (pictured), is a two-day event that will provide a forum for discussion on media developments and challenges facing journalists in the South Caucasus region, reports The Financial. 

 

“Topics for discussion include international standards on access to information, Internet development and regulation and access to information in the South Caucasus,” OSCE said.

 

Government officials, international and national media experts, as well as journalists and civil society representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia will take part in the conference. Two media experts from Kazakhstan will participate.

 

Conference participants are expected to draft and adopt recommendations for inclusion in a declaration, which will be used as a base for follow-up activities.

Mijatovic will address the opening of the conference, which begins at 10 am today in the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel in Tbilisi.
