If there are early elections, Levon Ter-Petrossian will be proposed as the Armenian National Congress’ (HAK) presidential candidate, said HAK coordinator Levon Zurabyan.
As for the HAK leader’s statement that his candidacy won’t be put forth if Armenia’s second president, Robert Kocharian, also doesn’t put forth his candidacy, Zurabyan said:
“In this political climate, he was speaking about a specific episode: that is if Serzh Sargsyan resigns and Robert Kocharian doesn’t run, Levon Ter-Petrossian too won’t put forth his candidacy.
“Much has changed now, but we can be sure of one thing: Ter-Petrossian remains the Armenian National Congress’ indisputable leader, and if there are presidential elections, I am sure that Ter-Petrossian will be the Armenian National Congress’ candidate,” said the HAK coordinator.
