Political prisoner, Republic party member Mushegh Saghatelyan will be released today. His friends and family are currently waiting for him in front of the Nubarashen penitentiary, reports Lragir.am.
Mushegh Saghatelyan will be released based on the fact that he already served half of his sentence. Recall that he was arrested on March 1 charged with carrying out violence against a police officer. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
By the way, reports Lragir.am, Saghatelyan was already once considered a political prisoner — when he was suspected by Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan in committing the October 27, 1999 parliamentary shooting in Armenia. Then he was arrested and charged with having a fake diploma.
