No Recorded Cases of Swine Flu in Armenia This Year

The situation with swine flu in Armenia this year is similar to not last year’s figures, but the year before, when the situation was normal, RA Ministry of Healthcare spokesperson Shushan Hunanyan told Epress.am today, adding that there have been no recorded cases of swine flu in Armenia this year.

As reported yesterday, the first case of swine flu this season was recorded in Tbilisi. Having trouble with her breathing, the 26-year-old woman who was diagnosed went to see her doctor two days ago. After undergoing the necessary examination, it was revealed that she has been infected with the swine flu virus.

A representative with Georgia’s Ministry of Health informed the press that “there is no danger of a pandemic flu in the country yet.”

Hunanyan informed Epress.am that they had been in contact with their colleagues in Georgia yesterday and received confirmation about the first case of swine flu in the region this year.

“Let me say, acute respiratory and viral illnesses are now being monitored in Armenia. We have the necessary vaccine, and if specialists consider it necessary, we will carry out inoculations, first for vulnerable groups; paramedics, in particular,” she said.
