The third round of the 4th annual “Football for Equal Opportunities” tournament for journalists took place yesterday at Yerevan’s Mika stadium.
Every year, matches are played between teams of journalists working in Armenia to raise awareness that football (or futsal) is for everyone. Note the matches are actually a combination of football and futsal, a variant of football that is played on a smaller playing surface and usually played indoors.
Playing against each other in Group A were leading teams Armenpress and Mediamax, who have not yet lost any points. It was an even fight and the match ended with a score of 3-3. In the same group, Lragir.am beat “Armenia: Finances and Economics,” 3-2. In Group A, ahead by 7 points is Armenpress in first place.
In Group B, the team from the monthly publication “Sunflower” beat Armfootball.com, 4-3, while the team from Epress.am beat Yerevan TV, 9-2. After its victory, Epress.am secured its place in the semi-finals, by securing 9 points in 3 matches.
Round 4 and 5 of the journalists’ futsal tournament will be played on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
