Let Armenia Know that Mkhitaryan’s Returned to the Squad: Lucescu

After a month’s absence, Armenian national team and (Ukrainian Premier League club) Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan spent half an hour on the field in the home match against Kiev’s Arsenal yesterday. 

At the press conference following the match, Shakhtar head coach Mircea Lucescu spoke about Mkhitaryan’s play: 

“I did not expect Mkhitaryan to perform at the level at which he played before the injury. After his returning from Armenia I put Henrikh in the squad in order to boost his morale and for him to feel that team spirit making sure that now everything is all right. It is clear that he is still far from his best physical condition. Even so, he did even more today than we asked him to. But obviously, he did not always succeed.,” he said, according to the team’s official website. 

Recall that yesterday’s match ended with Shakhtar’s victory, 4-0.
