Armenian Analyst Impressed by Condition of Armenian Church in Baku

Armenian analyst Stepan Grigoryan called on civil society representatives to get involved in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“To resolve the Karabakh conflict, it’s important to involve representatives of civil society in both countries. This will enhance confidence-building measures between the two countries,” he said, as reported by 1news.az, during the International Forum on Security in South Caucasus held in Baku.

According to Grigoryan, he visited an Armenian church in Baku and was pleasantly surprised by its condition and level of restoration.

“I was very glad to see that the Armenian church is under the protection of Azerbaijan. Because the church plays a big role in the lives of Armenians, the Armenian church in Baku left a very positive impression. This gives rise to mutual trust between our peoples. These are the confidence-building measures which must be developed between our countries,” he said.
