Armenian Parliament Postpones Discussion on Azerbaijan’s Armenian Population Statement

A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations chaired by Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun or ARF-D) MP Armen Rustamyan took place on Dec. 6.

As reported on the RA National Assembly official website, a decision was approved at the meeting to postpone by 30 days discussion of a draft statement presented by Heritage Party MP Larisa Alaverdyan on “recognizing as genocide the crimes committed by Azerbaijani authorities against the Armenian population in all of the Azerbaijani SSR and many of Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (later, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) areas from 1988–1992.”
