Armenian national and FC Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will travel to the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh today, where he will distribute gifts and provide financial assistance to children from orphanages in the de-facto republic.
The 21-year-old football player lost his father at a young age. His father, Hamlet Mkhitaryan, a well-known football player with Armenia’s national team and Yerevan’s Ararat team, died in 1996, when Henrikh was only 7 years old.
Note as well that Mkhitaryan will be present during the Dec. 23 gala event organized by the Football Federation of Armenia. Armenia’s best football player of the year will be announced at the event.
This title, however, can only be awarded to those who played on Armenia’s national team.
