It’s too early to talk about the format of Armenia’s 2012 parliamentary elections, but the option to unite is right and the opposition should unite, said People’s Party of Armenia leader Stepan Demirchyan, speaking to journalists in central Yerevan today.
As the most organized opposition force, Demirchyan named the Armenian National Congress (HAK), on which, according to Stepanyan, the majority of people are pinning their hopes. “The People’s Party of Armenia will continue its cooperation with HAK.”
The party leader also said that the opposition has repeatedly won elections and what is important is holding fair elections.
“There are way too man lies, fabrications, demagogues. All this will come to an end if normal, legitimate government is formed in the country. We must not make judgments about the opposition. The country’s most important task today is the development of a legitimate, lawful government,” concluded Demirchyan.
