Whoever Forged Pashinyan’s Signature Should be Punished, Says Gaspari

Former political prisoner, Armenian National Congress (HAK) member Vardges Gaspari has written a letter to RA Minister of Justice Hrair Tovmasyan in which he says, since Nov. 2010, he has been sending registered mail to chief editor of local daily Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) Nikol Pashinyan, who is imprisoned at Artik penitentiary.

“In a similar fashion, I sent a letter on Dec. 27, 2010; however, this time I received a pink delivery receipt with a signature not belonging to Nikol Pashinyan. Basically, someone else has signed [for the letter] instead of him,” writes Gaspari, who, along with his letter to the justice minister, sent two different copies of receipts comparing the real signature (from previous receipts) with the fake one.

In his letter to Armenia’s justice minister, Gaspari is asking to uncover the identity of the prison staff member who forged Pashinyan’s signature and to hold him accountable for his actions.

Gaspari expects a swift response by Tovmasyan. A copy of the letter has also been sent to RA Human Rights Defender Armen Harutyunyan.
