Whether there will be a revolution of staff or not, for me that’s still a question. But I think there is such an intention. There exists a certain plan, created or not created, but, in any case, it exists. However, that there’s a need for serious reforms in the situation existing in (Armenia’s) political elite is obvious, said Caucasus Institute Director Alexander Iskandaryan at a press conference in Yerevan today.
He doesn’t believe that former Yerevan mayor Gagik Beglaryan’s resignation was planned; however, the incident “isn’t restricted to only the mayor and will lead to a inter-clan struggle among the elite.”
“There’s an intention to continue the process. Whether that will happen or not, is perhaps subject to a huge question mark, though this process has been interesting to follow because it can lead to serious reforms inside Armenia,” concluded the analyst.
