Serving the Homeland is a ‘Real Man’s Job’: Armenian President

On the occasion of Army Day in Armenia, and for their significant contribution to ensuring the combat readiness of troops, demonstrated bravery and personal courage in defending the Homeland, RA President Serzh Sargsyan issued a decree awarding a number of soldiers and war veterans of the RA Armed Forces with Republic of Armenia medals, reads an official statement by the RA president’s press office.

In the presidential residence in Yerevan today, Sargsyan congratulated soldiers and war veterans and distributed the medals, while stating that he considered the faith and respect of the people of Armenia toward the Armenian army to be fully justified.

“Bearing the epaulet [the shoulder straps distinguishing a member of the army] and serving the Homeland are a real man’s job, while bearing the epaulet and serving the Homeland well, very honorable,” he stressed.
