Court of General Jurisdiction in Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts heard Armenian National Congress activist Vardges Gaspari’s claim against Armenia’s Special Investigation Service (SIS).
Reall that in a public statement on Nov. 16, Gaspari said at an opposition rally in front of the RA General Prosecutor’s Office on Nov. 12, police pushed and threw him on the ground. As a result, Gaspari lodged a complaint with the SIS.
During the trial, Gaspari read his statement out loud:
“The RA General Prosecution, along with the RA Police, having close links with the criminal underworld, repeatedly proved its commitment to criminal groups and the ruling elite, in particular, by concealing crimes by all possible and impossible means.”
Gaspari noted that he did not finish his opening remarks, which were interrupted by the judge, but as he informed Epress.am, after insisting, he was allowed to finish reading his statement.
“Until today, the RA Prosecutor continues to conceal the killers of March 1, 2008. Only those deprived of human qualities, grown in an incubator or absolute idiots could have announced with such a stupid facial expression that they were unable to find 3 killers among 4 people.
“You personally, investigator G. Gevorgyan, as a member of the criminal prosecution gang, defending the interests of repeat offenders who committed violence against me in Nubarashen in 2009, diligently performing your duty, had the time to declare that no evidence of the crime has been found. Consequently, your position calls on you not to solve crimes, but to conceal them to the extent of your strength.
“In particular, when taking my testimony on this case before, you lied to me, made a false statement, verbally stating that in the sites I mentioned no incident is depicted; rather journalists are conducting interviews and so on. I, and [as noted] among the facts mentioned, declare the fact of the criminally punishable act, the person connected with this case, investigator G. Gevorgyan, the criminal,” concludes Gaspari’s statement.
Note that the ruling on this case will be announced on Feb. 1 at 5:30 pm.
