Pashinyan Court Case Did Not Take Place Today Due to Bad Weather Conditions

Today’s court session in the case of Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) chief editor, imprisoned opposition journalist Nikol Pashinyan did not take place. Pashinyan’s attorney, Yervand Varosyan informed Epress.am that because of an impasse on the road to Artik penitentiary where Pashinyan is currently held, they were unable to make it to the session.

Varosyan also noted that, according to information he’s received, the prosecutor and the judge also were unable to pass through the section of the road near Mastara, more than half way on the route from Yerevan to Artik (about a two-and-a-half-hour drive).

It is yet unknown when the next court date will be rescheduled.

As reported earlier, four journalists were on on route to Artik this morning, but likewise had to turn back. On the way back, the vehicle, carrying the driver, Epress.am correspondent Lilit Tadevosyan and camera operator Tigran Hakobyan, Aravot (“Morning”) and Chorrord Inqnishkhanutyun (“Fourth Self-Authority”) photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan and Photolur photojournalist Tigran Tadevosyan, skidded off the road and fell into a ditch.
