The Armenian Cultural Association in Istanbul will be offering Armenian-language lessons on Saturdays beginning on Feb. 12, according to a statement issued by the group.
This is not the first instance of Armenian-language lessons being offered in Turkey; however, this is the first official course which is provided by an Armenian association out of Armenian schools which are just for those with Armenian descent, according to an Epress.am correspondent in Istanbul.
Association members have said they have already received a “huge amount” of applications for the course.
The course will last for 3 months and costs 50 Turkish lira (about $30 US) per month.
