After take-off yesterday morning, a Ukrainian airline company ISD Avia plane, carrying the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) delegation and members of Armenia’s national football (soccer) team to their match with Georgia’s team in Cyprus, was forced to land.
Technical issues arose early on in the flight and the pilots decided to turn back to Zvartnots airport in Yerevan.
As told to Epress.am by FFA press secretary Tigran Israelyan, after the necessary repairs were carried out, the plane took off at 6 pm and landed 3 hours later at Larnaca international airport in Cyprus.
Recall, the Armenia-Georgia friendly is set to take place on Feb. 9 at 5 pm Yerevan time. The match will be broadcast live by Armenia’s Public TV (H1).
