In the framework of the Security Policy Conference in Munich, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Feb. 5, according to a press release issued by the Armenian president’s office.
Sargsyan stressed the importance of the active participation of the United States in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process as well as in the preservation of peace and stability in the region. He expressed gratitude to the US Secretary of State for the unequivocal and balanced position articulated during the OSCE Summit in Astana regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Clinton said that she warmly recalls her visit to Yerevan and expressed gratitude for the genial reception.
Speaking about Armenia-Turkey relations, the US Secretary of State stressed the resolve of the United States to support the continuation of the process aimed at the normalization of the relations between the two countries.
The two parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the further development of Armenian-American bilateral relations and strengthening economic ties. The parties discussed also the current stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace negotiations and issues related to the reformation processes in Armenia.
