Armenia’s General Prosecutor Received Recording of MP Insulting Hetq Journalist

Local Armenian daily Chorrord Inqnishkhanutyun (“Fourth Self-Authority”) yesterday asked Shahen Tonoyan, head of the department providing support services to prosecutors at the RA General Prosecutor’s office, whether his office had received the letter from local Armenian news site Hetq directed at RA General Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan.

Tonoyan said they have received both the letter and the audio recording between Hetq and MP Ruben Hayrapetyan. “There are timeframes defined for responding, and we will respond within those timeframes,” said Tonoyan.

Recall, according to Hetq, Hayrapetyan recently had insulted one of their journalists over the phone, after which the news agency had appealed to the prosecutor.
