Well-known chess player and one of the leaders of the Russian opposition, Garry Kasparov will be delivering lectures for students in Georgia today and tomorrow.
In addition to lectures, as part of a five-day visit to the South Caucasus country, he will meet with representatives of the chess federations.
“I’m very glad for the invitation to which I readily agreed. As for what the Kremlin thinks about my visit, I can say that it long ago stopped bothering me. I really love your country, I have many friends here, so I’m not preparing to abandon Georgia due to Russia’s wrong policies,” he said.
