At one time, Levon Ter-Petrossian had said I was his “ideal.” Then why doesn’t he listen to what his “ideal” is saying right now? asked Union of National Self-Determination (NSDU) party leader Paruyr Hayrikyan, speaking to journalists in Yerevan today.
“I don’t want to focus on this issue, but he was saying such a thing, why doesn’t he listen now, to what I think about this or that issue?” he asked.
Hayrikyan didn’t want to comment on media reports that Ter-Petrossians’ wife and son had left for the US, because, according to him, Ter-Petrossian plans to exacerbate the situation in Armenia soon.
“I know he has many friends in the US. He, no less than anyone else, has the right to address the issue of his family, just as any Armenian who couldn’t care less about the nation’s fate. They don’t understand that the nation is also a family,” he said.
Recall, the Russian Reporter had earlier published WikiLeaks cables in which Charge d’Affaires Joseph Pennington noted that Ter-Petrossian’s son David went to Los Angeles before the 2008 presidential elections at the urging of his father, “presumably out of concern for his son’s life.”
