The Heritage Party has become active in the political arena, and that’s very good, said People’s Party leader Tigran Karapetyan, speaking to journalists in Yerevan today.
“I consider the Heritage [Party] factor to be generally positive, though it’s understandable that they want to acquire authorship, but authorship has to be acquired sector by sector, there have to be large masses, the issue has to be not only street traders or any other sector,” he said.
Karapetyan said today the entire public is involved in the conflict and all of the government’s decisions are undemocratic.
Speaking about the Mar. 3 clashes between police and Heritage Party MPs outside the government building, the People’s Party leader said, rather confusingly, “It’s not the police we have to collide with, though that too is needed if the opportunity exists, but we have to collide with the authorities, but then the police officer is a servant [of the state], they make him stand, he is afraid of his position, I consider that if we have to clash, well we have to clash, not to be afraid of that.”
