The police and the authorities displayed prudence, allowing the opposition to enter Liberty Square yesterday; however, the opposition should know that it’s necessary to obey the law, said ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) press spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov, speaking to journalists in Yerevan today.
According to him, it’s not every time, that the authorities are ready “to support through bypassing the law.”
“We are taking the correct policy path. No one needs shocks. The country falls back, as you know, as a result of shocks [i.e. social revolts]. But if there’s a blow below the belt, you all know that the Republican [Party of Armenia] has such resources that it can hit in a such a way that they [our opponents] become unconscious,” Sharmazanov said.
