National Assembly deputies today paid a visit to Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian in Liberty Square, where the MP has been on a hunger strike since Mar. 15.
Among those who visited him were Prosperous Armenia MPs Naira Zohrabyan and Samvel Balasanyan; Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) MPs Vahan Hovhannesyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Lilit Galstyan, and Ara Nranyan; independent MP Viktor Dallakyan; Rule of Law MP Heghine Bisharyan; National Assembly Chair Hovik Abrahamyan and Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) vice chair Galust Sahakyan.
The deputies and parliamentary speaker spoke with Hovannisian and urged him to end his hunger strike. Speaking to Hovannisian and the other Heritage Party members, Abrahamyan said:
“Why aren’t you coming to the National Assembly? We miss you and we’re concerned for Raffi’s health. In my opinion, it would be much more effective to use your opportunities in the National Assembly. I’m not opposed, that in our country there are problems, and it would be very right to discuss these from the platform of the National Assembly.”
