General Prosecutor’s Office Responds to Reports of Armenian Prosecutor’s Dismissal

Reports on the dismissal of RA General Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan (pictured) are ridiculous, General Prosecutor press spokesperson Shahen Tonoyan told Epress.am today.

“The primary source of these rumors was the site Slaq.am, represented by Menua Harutyunyan, but he would do better to make jokes about himself. Everyone makes jokes appropriate to his morals and upbringing; his character is subject of everyday ridicule,” said Tonoyan.

Recall, Slaq.am reported today that Hovsepyan had submitted a letter of resignation, noting that it was an April Fools’ Day joke.

At the same time, the same news was disseminated by 1in.am, noting, however, that “this is not an April Fools’ Day joke.”
