Negotiations Should Continue, Says Deputy Chair of Ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party

The negotiating process continues to be one of the ways to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, believes deputy chair of the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov.

“I think that it’s necessary to continue the negotiating process,” he told journalists on Friday, while commenting on Baku’s expectations of the meeting of foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan in Moscow.

Azerbaijan’s Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Bahar Muradova, in turn, said she doesn’t expect the adoption of any specific solutions to resolving the conflict at the Moscow meeting, “but this meeting might be productive in agreeing on principles.”

She expressed hope that the ministers will reach a consensus on outstanding issues.

“Statements such as those by the OSCE Minsk Group give us hope: during the last meeting with the Azerbaijani president [the Co-Chairs] said it was time to move from principles to peace negotiations and for good reason,” said Muradova, reports Trend news agency.
