Lena Meyer-Landrut, who represented Germany in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest and won the contest with her song “Satellite,” in a German TV broadcast said that, among others, she liked Armenia’s entry in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest — Emmy’s “Boom Boom” — because “it’s very simple but catchy.” On the German talk show, she actually sings part of the chorus: “Boom Boom, Chaka Chaka…”
The Armenian song entry’s music is by Apricota (Hayk Harutyunyan and Hayk Hovhannisyan), lyrics by Sosi Khanikyan and arrangement by Murzo (Ara Torosyan).
Various polls asking who will win this year’s Eurovision indicate that Armenia’s Emmy is among the leading positions. For example, a poll on wiwibloggs updated Apr. 17, 2011, shows Emmy in the no. 1 slot, with Turkey’s entry voted as second most likely to win the contest.
