Tigran Karapetyan Considers that He’s Not Worthy of ‘This Less Number of People’

Today we register that the people are disappointed, because they have been deceived by everyone — except Tigran Karapetyan, said People’s Party leader Tigran Karapetyan himself on the podium at a rally held outside the Matenadaran (Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts) earlier today.

“We live in a reality in which the people don’t realize that the country is theirs; the land and money are theirs. You permit them to rob you, to build high-rise buildings. We’re slaves, while the leader that promises us freedom sees that the people don’t know what’s good and what’s bad, gets tired, they too sell out. Why, are you worthy of this life? The man who does charitable work, who is ready to give you his heart like Danko, you don’t appreciate. Those who plunder, devour, take and deceive you appreciate or you fear them. How long can you be afraid? Were we worthy of this less number of people? They tricked you so much, lied so much, that you also don’t know what you’re doing. Are you worthy of this life? Thousands of people call us, make promises; they say, Karapetyan, will you be resolute? Are you coming to be resolute, do you support so that we can follow you? We put down our life for you, well are you worthy for us to give our life? Do you at least understand that we don’t have a future, our future is in another’s hands, and those hands are both bloody and dirty, and not honest,” said Karapetyan during his address to about 300 people.

After the rally, Karapetyan spoke with journalists and said, “everyone’s tricked the people, which is why the number of people were few.”

“They are disappointed by such politicians who say Tatar-Mongol, who say that in 30 days they’re going to get rid of the Karabakhcis from here, but they don’t get rid of them,” he said.

Asked by Epress.am what steps he’s preparing to take next, Karapetyan said, “We will inform [you]; in any case, we are going to create an alliance of patriotic forces.”

When Karapetyan was already in his car and getting ready to leave, chief of Armenia’s Police Patrol Valeriy Osipyan stopped the car and asked the party leader how many people there were at the rally. Karapetyan said, “Around 800, from 800 to 1,000.”

Immediately after this incident, the Epress.am reporter asked Osipyan for the number of people at the rally. Osipyan said 800 to 1,000 people were participating in today’s rally.
