Armenia Participated in NATO Meeting on Afghanistan Operations

Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov participated in two days of meetings of chiefs of defense (CHODs) from 54 NATO member and partner countries. The meetings were held at NATO central headquarters in Brussels and focused on “partnership, operations and transformation,” with a focus on NATO operations specifically on Libya and Afghanistan.

During the meeting on the second day, attendees discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, the future strategy of the alliance, and other matters related to actions that are being taken.

In his speech, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov presented Armenia’s future plans in widening the participation of its military unit in NATO operations in Afghanistan, according to a press release issued by the RA defense ministry.
