Georgia’s Parliamentary Building Might Become a Hotel

The Georgian parliament building in Tbilisi might be sold and turned into a hotel and possibly moving deputies to Kutaisi, reports Regnum news agency.

The parliament building might become one of the last sites that host state authorities as it might be put up for auction.

Construction work for building hotels has already begun at the site of the former Ministry of Agriculture building, as well as the former Supreme Council of Abkhazia building, which also housed the Central Electoral Commission.

Newspaper Akhali Taoba reports that visiting Georgia’s parliament building a few days ago were Greek and Arab businessmen, who examined the possibility of reconstructing it and turning it into a hotel.
