Thomas Hammarberg’s Armenia Report Delayed by One Week

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg was to have published a report based on his recent visit to Armenia on May 2.

However, this wasn’t the case. At the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) yesterday, Armenian National Congress (HAK) representative Arman Grigoryan , asked by a local daily Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) reporter the reasons for the delay, said that, according to his sources, Armenian authorities, who received the report ahead of time, asked for a little bit more time to respond to the issues raised in the report.

“The Commissioner for Human Rights office, honoring this request, delayed the report going public by one week. According to my sources, the report will be published on May 9,” he said.
