Armenia-OSCE Cooperation Discussed in President’s Residence

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan yesterday welcomed the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Petros Efthymiou, according to an official press release issued by the president’s office.

The parties stressed the importance of Armenia’s cooperation with different OSCE bodies including the Parliamentary Assembly, particularly emphasizing joint work in the areas of democratic reforms, security, freedom of the press, police reforms and a number of other areas. According to Sargsyan, the Parliamentary Assembly is a good place to use the experience and capabilities of political figures and entities to enhance the works of the OSCE.

Efthymiou noted that the PA embodies values which are important for the OSCE – peace, security, friendship and cooperation. He underlined that the Organization works hard in compliance with these principles and values. He also spoke with satisfaction about the active work of the Armenian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly.
