Upon instructions by RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan, to uncover possible new evidence and facts in the proceedings of the criminal case on the events of Mar. 1–2, 2008, launched by the RA Special Investigative Service (SIS) and with the aim of informing the public of the work carried out by the investigative body, senior prosecutors at the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, along with the head of the investigative body and the group’s investigators, from now on will meet with members of the press each month, according to a statement by the RA Prosecutor General’s Office.
“All representatives of news outlets operating in the territory of the Republic of Armenia can participate in the meetings and raise their concerns on the circumstances of the criminal case in question,” reads the statement.
The meetings (titled “Day of Open Doors” in Armenian) will take place on the first and last Wednesday of each month at 12 pm, at a conference room in the Prosecutor’s School managed by the RA Prosecutor General’s Office (50 Tigran Mets Ave., Yerevan).
The first meeting will take place on May 25.
