A new website (only in Armenian) to monitor the legislative activity of political entities represented in the National Assembly was launched today. The site displays statistics of the work carried out by parliamentary factions and individual MPs — including voting records (who voted how), positions expressed in the votes, and how many times they abstained, posed questions, and made speeches.
The top three MPs who voted the most in the 6th and 7th parliamentary sessions (the period covered in the last monitoring report) were members of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK): Gagik Melikyan, 238 times; Hrant Grigoryan, 238 times; and National Assembly chair Hovik Abrahamyan, 237 times.
Those who were most absent from the two parliamentary sessions (in which there are many sittings) were HHK MP Ruben Hayrapetyan (237 meetings out of 239!), HHK MP Harutyun Pambukyan (again, 237 times absent) and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun or ARF-D) MP Alvard Petrosyan, 234 times.
The deputies who made the most speeches, again during this period, were Heritage Party MP Larisa Alaverdyan at 71 times; ARF-D MP Artsvik Minasyan, 69 times; and Heritage Party MP Styopa (Stepan) Safaryan, 38 times.
