The recent slew of deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents in Armenia have become cause for concern not only for average citizens, but also for those in positions of authority, reports local daily Yerkir.
“In particular, according to our sources, there are serious discussions taking place in the police force on increasing the effectiveness of combating these [accidents]… they have not yet decided whether to inform the public of the real reasons for the accidents or not.
“According to our sources in law enforcement agencies, a majority of such accidents are due to driving while under the influence of narcotics or alcohol,” reports the daily.
