The sixth Sunday in Paschal Tide (the 50 days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost), which is also referred to as the Sunday of the Roses (“Pascha rosarum” or “rosatum”), is marked the last Sunday of May.
Every year, people gather at the St. Gevorg of Mughni Armenian Church in Tbilisi’s Old Quarters and sing songs by Sayat-Nova, recite his poetry and place bright red roses at the troubadour’s tomb in the church yard.
Tbilisi-based, Russian-language PIK TV did a story on the event (in Russian only).
