It’s possible that well-known Russian rock artist of Bashkir descent Zemfira might soon come to Armenia.
Speaking to Epress.am, Eleonara Araratyan, administrator of the Facebook group “We want Zemfira in Armenia,” said they addressed the singer’s manager in writing two weeks ago and are currently waiting for a response.
“Through an official letter, the Armenian Rock Association, with the support of high-ranking Armenian bodies, appealed to Zemfira’s manager with the proposal of holding a concert in Armenia and they told us that they have to review her work schedule and then they’ll get back to us,” she said.
She said they’ll wait for the response, after which point they’ll appeal to the appropriate bodies for financial assistance.
“Until then we’re going to keep our initiative active in every way… we have already organized a Zemfira evening at Friends club, where Zemfira’s songs were played by rock bands, the film about her was screened — we constantly urge people to join the Facebook group, where there are already 5,000 users. Also on the 21st of this month, we’re going to have a flashmob on Northern Ave., during which time each participant will hold one letter of Zemfira’s name and we’ll march through the main streets of Yerevan,” she said.
