The number of tourists in Armenia wanting to vacation outside the country has dropped this year, according to representatives of three travel agencies Epress.am spoke with today.
“Compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists dropped this year and this is tied to the fact that prices outside [the country] have increased,” Globe Travel sales consultant Mikayela Margaryan told Epress.am.
According to Margaryan, Armenian tourists using their services this year mainly prefer to travel to Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria.
Tourists using the services of the Armenian branch of Visa Concord, however, often prefer Spain, France, Czech Republic and Tunisia as vacation spots. Visa Concord travel agency also informed Epress.am that the number of Armenian tourists leaving Armenia for travel this year has dropped this year.
The main vacation hot spot chosen by Bagrat Tours customers is the Turkish province of Antalya. According to a company representative, they’ve noticed a drop in customers this year, though they were unable to say why this was the case.
Levon Travel Yerevan sales consultant Anna Gabrielyan told Epress.am that their customers primarily go to Turkey (again, Antalya) to vacation, though out of the European countries, they prefer Italy, France, Greece and Bulgaria.
According to Gabrielyan, though, the number of tourists using their services has remained the same last year. The same thing was heard from Elitar Travel Company — no drop in numbers, but no increase either.
Elitar Travel Company informed Epress.am as well that apart from European countries, Greece, France, and Spain, their customers also prefer to vacation in Cyprus.
