Armenian prime minister Tigran Sargsyan began his working visit to Russia Thursday. Sargsyan left for the city of Rostov-on-Don (Rostov-na-Donu) to participate in the 13th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation.
During the presence of the Commission’s co-chairs, Tigran Sargsyan and Russian transport minister Igor Levitin, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Armenian marz (province) of Ararat and the Russian province of Rostov. The memorandum was signed by the governors of the respective provinces, Edik Barseghyan and Vasily Golubev.
The memorandum provides for cooperation in the socioeconomic, cultural, educational and science sectors.
The meeting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation is expected to take place today, according to an Armenian government press statement.
