Georgia will create a special commission to discuss the status of non-functioning churches, which the Armenian side requires, but the state won’t interfere in the commission’s work, said Georgian Parliament deputy chair Mikheil Machavariani, reports GHN news agency.
Machavariani noted that the law approved by parliament does not affect property issues.
“If such issues are raised, such as, for example, the question of the Armenian side referring to non-functioning churches, a joint commission of church representatives and historians will be created and the state will not intervene in these issues,” he said.
