Members of the Heritage Party — party leader Raffi Hovannisian, MP Anahit Bakhshyan, board members Karine Hakobyan and Susanna Barkhudaryan — on Monday met with local residents in the Armenian city of Etchmiadzin.
According to a press statement issued by the opposition party today, during their conversation, Hovannisian weighed in on political developments, particularly expressing his negative opinion on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s decision last week to confirm Central Electoral Commission members, noting that “once again the opposition, and so the people, are being isolated from political processes.”
As for the dialogue between the authorities and the Armenian National Congress, Hovannisian believes that it will unlikely benefit Armenian citizens and their state.
“Let there not be a performance… Wishing them the best, we have already seen that the sides have more in common than they have differences,” he said.
