Armenian-American Businessman Accused of Pedophilia’s Guilt will be Proven, Says Prosecutor

The trial of president and owner of Metal Prince Ltd. Corporation and Akhtala Ore Processing Plant CJSC Serop Der-Boghossian, who was arrested in February on sex abuse charges, resumed in the Lori District Court of First Instance presided over by Judge Mushegh Harutyunyan on Thursday.

Local daily Hraparak reports that only 2 of the 12 victims showed up in court yesterday. The two men were in army fatigues as they are currently serving in Armenia’s Armed Forces.

At the end of the session, state prosecutor Hovsep Sargsyan informed reporters that some of the video footage was examined and one of the victims testified. According to him, the victim-witness told the court what happened between him and Serop Der-Boghossian.

“In the video, there were victims, as well as the culprit Serop Der-Boghossian. They were present in court,” said Hovseop Sargsyan, reports Hraparak. He also noted that the prosecution is more than convinced that the evidence raised in court is reasonable and “will prove [Serop Der-Boghossian’s] guilt during the trial, which we witnessed today in court and which will continue in the future.”
