Noyemberyan Mayor’s Son Named as Suspect in Rape Case

A 17-year-old girl identified as “L.N.” was raped in the Armenian town of Noyemberyan on Sept. 2, reports local news site Hetq Online.

 

According to Hetq, L.N. was raped by three 17-year-old men, one of whom is the son of Noyemberyan mayor Vanush Amiraghyan, while another is the son of a police official.

 

As told to Hetq by a police media spokesperson, a criminal case has been launched under RA Criminal Code Article 138 (“Rape”).

 

No arrests have yet been made. An investigation is underway.
