Erdogan Would Like Turkish to be a UN Official Language

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to make Istanbul a UN center in a meeting he held with the Secretary General on Thursday, Anadolu Ajansi reports.

Erdogan told Ban Ki-moon that Turkey desired to see the Turkish language as an official language of the UN. Ban Ki-moon replied by saying this was an issue to be decided by UN member states.
